    Happy New Year 2014

This final image posting tell it all. Whether you choose food, manufacturing, design or acting, you must combine many different ingredients to make it work, no matter what outcome you expect. Here you see a closeup view of a line of paints I have recently begun to work with because they are so rare, using good pigment, yet, with a workable consistency no other paint company has been offer to date.

One of the two works of art shows a morning’s tasks, from start to finish, created with a concept, newly phrased Graffiti. The other is pure inspiration without conformity, layered and then layered again, smooth and cracked, thick and thin. Both works give me hours of contentment and wonder. One is more clearly defined according to the culture I am most familiar with. The other, let’s just say out of this world.

You have within your self an opportunity to do what you want, choose, whether you will help or hurt. Love or Hate. These two polar opposites exist whether you appreciate them or not. Recognize the power of the 2 and you benefit. Take a moment and think about how you affect the world around you. Are you at peace with who you are? Can you help someone? Do you want to? Does the sounds made by a newborn baby put a smile on your face like it does me?

My hope, and I have much, is for your year to be all you want it to be. And more.

Have a beautiful day and a thrilling end to the year 2013.

    Sincerely, this Artist.com1

These images reflect the style of artist Michael Tyler. Most images contain hair and makeup styling, all are a direct result of his creative talent.

Fall has begun to show it’s colors, and here in Nashville there’s a lot more color showing for Stylists. Story telling has always been an interest and recently I have begun to explore the career of Story Telling. Working in the motion picture industry gives me a lot of potential content to pull from. Whether it is with the story tellers who write lyrics and tunes, or visual artists telling with the written letter, shapes and colors, or simply in the face of a child telling her story, there is something common found in all the pictures used to bring this image together on the left.

If you ask a story teller whether or not they are an artist you are likely to get responses ranging from humble “no not really” to “Yes, let me share a recent story with you”. On the other hand, if you ask an artist, your answer will be dictated by their discipline. All of their answers apply. Stories help the imagination to see things that weren’t there before. Words hint or clearly define, according to the taskmaster putting them together. This isn’t enough to always guarantee prosperity financially. It is usually a step toward an emotional breakthrough. If you were fortunate, you were encouraged starting at a young age to be creative. If not, you sometimes have to look for support of that nature. Today the internet has resources galore for support and direction.

One in particular I would like to suggest is titled IAM. That stands for International Arts Movement. http://www.internationalartsmovement.org IAM is a good place to start to find dialogue and adventure. Meet fellow artists and make new friends. Post your comments, I would really like to hear back from you with your opinion and any suggestions of content we could provide for you here. Michael

Taylor Swift Wins Grammy for Album of the Year

via Taylor Swift Wins Grammy for Album of the Year.

In the last few months I discovered that Taylor Swift’s producer is the grown up teenager of the duet Steve and Annie Chapman. They were long time singing favorites of my wife Cheryl, so when I started styling them for their photo shoots it was always fun to work with and share with them.

For their son to be producing one of the industry’s top performers currently is great to see, so I had to congratulate them on what Nathan is doing, in an email as soon as I saw the winning announcement.

Congrats  to you Taylor and Nathan.
